Why You Must Care for the Caregiver

Lisa Zawrotny Episode 262

Text your thoughts and questions!

Our natural instinct is to prioritize those who need care, not those giving the care, especially when it comes to the elderly and infirm. While that's understandable, I refuse to leave the caregiver behind.

As a repeat caregiver for elderly parents and mom of two, I’ve experienced the challenge of caring for others while also trying to care for myself.

In this episode of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast, I share my story, cover the hidden toll of caregiving (and the compounding effects of stress that come with it), and offer seven essential self-care strategies for caregivers.

If you're a caregiver, remember: your well-being matters. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Start by implementing one small self-care strategy today, and recognize that taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's necessary.
