How To Motivate Yourself By Meeting Your Needs First
Text your thoughts and questions!
In our hustle and grind world, it’s easy to get so focused on achievement that we forget about honoring and understanding life experiences in order to heal and grow. There’s a lot of irony in this because, in actuality, when we take care of our needs, instead of pushing past them for the sake of productivity, we actually become more productive. This week, episode 209 of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast is about how to motivate yourself by meeting your needs first!
In this episode of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast, I share how meeting your basic needs can help you to focus on your bigger goals and I provide actionable steps to take right now to assess your needs and how to address them.
I cover the following topics:
- Breaking down the 5 levels in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
- How failure to have our needs met impacts our overall well-being.
- Criticisms and considerations of Maslow’s Hierarchy
- How to use the hierarchy of needs as a tool to check in with yourself and your needs and to set personal goals.
Don’t fall victim to the hustle culture that encourages you to push past burnout. There is nothing more important than your physical and emotional well-being. And when you prioritize that, productivity will follow.
